Medical Maggots were first clinically studied at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA Medical Center, Long Beach, CA). In January 2004, marketing clearance was received from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In September 2005, production of Medical Maggots was transitioned to Monarch Labs in Irvine, CA. Since that time, we have been the sole producer and distributor of Medical Maggots and other proprietary biotherapy medical products. In 2023, the Medical Maggots™ name was changed to Medicinal Maggots™ and Creature Comforts™ product to Sheer Comfort™.
